Cook like a true professional in your own home, giving your meals the right touch of salt.
With this salt rock, you’ll only have to take care of providing heat…the rest is done by the rock. Products (meat, fish, vegetables) that come into contact with the rock will only absorb the necessary amount of salt – they won’t taste too salty. This rock is also perfect for cold dishes (sushi, tartar…).
So that you have everything you need on hand, this pack also includes two tubes of seasoning (for fish and meat) and kitchen tongs.
Thanks to its metallic handle, it’s very easy to use.
1. Use the salt block directly on gas fires, ovens or embers (not suitable for induction cookers).
In gas fires: Heat for 15 minutes over low heat, 15 minutes over medium heat and 10 minutes over high heat.
In the oven: Place the block in the oven with it turned off and then heat for 40 minutes at 70ºC.
Over embers: Place directly on the barbecue grill for 45 minutes.
(Do not use the salt block if it isn’t hot enough as your food will aborb more salt than recommended).
2. When reaching the right cooking temperature, remove the salt block and protect the surface it’ll cook on with a wooden block, or something similar. Place meat, fish or vegetables on the block, already seasoned with our special Regional seasonings to give your dishes brilliant flavour. Use the tongs to flip and move your food.
3. Allow the block to cool completely (minimum 1 hour) before cleaning it. Cleaning: Use a spatula or metal scouring pad, then clean with paper towels or a damp cloth. (Don’t use soap or cleaning products, don’t immerse in water – the salt block is a natural antibacterial, so only remove whatever has stuck to it). Throughout its use, the salt block will acquire a dark colour and will reduce in size. You can chop and grind the block to obtain coarse salt for your culinary creations.
